Paste a WhatsApp group invite link to get its invite code instantly — free, no login, nothing is sent to WhatsApp. Then see which "group ID" you actually need, and how to get the official API group ID to send messages.
Runs in your browser. The link is not stored or sent anywhere.
People mean three different things by "WhatsApp group ID". Pick the one that matches what you're building:
| Name | Looks like | Used for | How to get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Invite code | AbCdEfGhIjK123… | Joining or sharing a group | The part after chat.whatsapp.com/ — this tool extracts it. |
| JID | 1203634…@g.us | Unofficial WhatsApp Web libraries | Only visible to tools that log in as a phone. Not supported by Meta, and accounts using them risk being banned. |
| API group ID | Y2FwaV9ncm91cDox… | Sending messages with the official WhatsApp Business (Cloud) API | Returned by Meta when your business number creates the group via the API, by GET /groups, and on every incoming group message (group_id). |
Important: the official API only works with groups created by a business number through the API. Groups made in the normal WhatsApp app can't be messaged or read through the API, and no tool can legitimately pull an API ID for someone else's group.
POST /groups with a subject — the response contains the group ID, and Meta sends an invite link you share with members.GET /groups, then send with "recipient_type": "group".WasapFlow Bridge gives your app or CRM the official WhatsApp Business API, including Groups. No Meta App Review, no Tech Provider application. Your AI (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) can wire it up from our docs.

Paste the group invite link (https://chat.whatsapp.com/…) into the tool above to get its invite code. To send messages through the official WhatsApp Business API you need the API group ID instead, which Meta returns when your business number creates the group via the Groups API, and which you can list with GET /groups.
No. The invite code is public, but the official API only exposes groups created by your business number through the API. No legitimate tool can pull an API ID for a group you did not create that way.
A JID ends in @g.us and is used by unofficial WhatsApp Web libraries that log in as a phone. The official Cloud API uses its own group ID and never accepts a JID. Unofficial libraries risk getting the number banned.
Yes, for groups your business number created through the Groups API. Send with recipient_type "group" and the group ID in "to". Text, media and text- or media-based templates are supported. Meta must have Groups enabled on the number.
No. Meta does not allow adding people directly. You create the group, share its invite link, and people join themselves. You can remove participants.
Yes, free with no login. It runs in your browser and does not store the link.
